Xiaomi Boosts 2025 EV Sales Target to 400,000 Units

Xiaomi, a rapidly growing automaker in China, has raised its battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales target for the year 2025 from an initial estimate of 350,000 units to a new goal of 400,000 vehicles. The company is celebrating the production milestone of its 500,000th BEV unit just one year after launching vehicle manufacturing at its Beijing facility.

The revised sales target reflects an impressive threefold increase over Xiaomi’s delivery volume of 135,000 cars in 2024. This growth is largely attributed to the strong performance of the company’s SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV models. Despite this ambitious expansion plan, Xiaomi remains committed to prioritizing safety and quality as it ramps up production.

Xiaomi’s success has positioned it as a formidable competitor in China’s EV market alongside established players like Tesla, along with other startups such as Leapmotor and Li Auto. The company recently opened an R&D center in Germany, setting the stage for potential European expansion plans. Xiaomi also reported a profit of CNY 700 million (approximately US$98 million) in the third quarter of 2025, reversing from a loss of CNY 300 million in the previous period.

According to internal reports, Xiaomi’s sales growth was driven by a 175% year-over-year increase, delivering 108,796 cars during this period. By the end of October 2025, the company had already delivered 315,376 BEVs in China alone. This rapid rise underscores Xiaomi’s strategic focus on innovation and market expansion.

As Xiaomi continues to scale its production capacity and broaden its geographical reach, it will be interesting to see how this new sales target is achieved while maintaining a strong emphasis on safety standards and product quality. The company’s journey reflects the dynamic landscape of China’s burgeoning EV industry, where technology-driven innovation is key to market leadership.
