Mercedes-Benz Electric Trucks Deliver Sustainable Fashion Week Logistics

The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 and Actros L ProCabin have successfully shuttled fashion sets from London to Paris for the latest haute couture events. This marks a pivotal moment in sustainable logistics, proving that long-distance freight can be powered by renewable energy sources without compromising on efficiency or performance.

Partnering with KB Event and Mettrux Truck & Van, Mercedes-Benz’s eActros 600 completed its journey of nearly 772 miles (1,242km), showcasing impressive range capabilities. The electric truck managed to travel this distance on a single charge, achieving an efficiency of almost 600km per full charge.

As we reported in our previous analysis on the rise to luxury leadership by Audi, sustainability is no longer just a buzzword but a critical factor for high-end brands like Mercedes-Benz. The British fashion house that leveraged these services was equally committed, integrating sustainable practices into every aspect of their show logistics, from set materials to transport and even energy sources.

The eco-friendly initiative also saved around 844kg of CO2 emissions over the course of the journey—equivalent to the annual carbon absorption by about 37 mature trees. These statistics underscore the significant environmental impact that such sustainable practices can have in large-scale events like Paris Fashion Week.

Drivers of the eActros 600 were particularly impressed with its power and performance, which is consistent with our earlier report on Nio’s ET9 Horizon Edition electric vehicle. The truck’s Megawatt Charging System allowed for a rapid recharge from 20% to 80% in less than 30 minutes, making it ideal for high-tempo events.

The eActros 600 is designed with efficiency and range in mind, featuring efficient aerodynamics and a battery capacity exceeding 600 kilowatt hours. This makes it capable of handling long-distance haulage while maintaining the flexibility needed for complex logistics operations like those during fashion week.
