Tata Motors follows closely behind with their Sierra EV, a direct electric counterpart to its popular ICE version. It will be built on Tata’s acti.ev+ platform and feature both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) options. This versatility aims at broadening the model’s appeal.

Toyota enters the fray with their Urban Cruiser EV, a sibling to Maruti Suzuki’s e Vitara but distinguished by unique styling elements that set it apart from its counterpart. The Toyota will share battery technology and hardware while offering distinct cabin designs.

Kia Syros EV is another highlight in 2026, targeting the budget segment with features like cooled rear seats and a panoramic sunroof. It’s expected to rival Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 when it launches early next year.

The electric vehicle market in India is set to see significant growth with these new models, promising a range of options for consumers looking to transition from internal combustion engines.
