At Valentino Rossi’s annual 100Km of Champions event, Mattia Pasini had a scary crash that left him unconscious. The veteran Moto2 and former MotoGP racer was involved in an accident with Tito Rabat on Friday during practice sessions for the dirt track contest.

Pasini explained to Italy’s GPOne how he lost control after Rabat’s bike stood up as he accelerated out of a turn, sweeping Pasini’s front wheel from under him. The collision was intense and left Pasini knocked unconscious for about two minutes before medical staff arrived on the scene.

Doctors Dr Berardi and Dr Lucidi were immediately present to provide care; they arranged an air ambulance transfer as a precautionary measure to ensure no serious injuries had occurred. Upon examination at the hospital, it was determined that Pasini sustained only bruising with minor vascular damage but no critical harm.

Pasini expressed gratitude for the medical team and Rossi’s concern over his well-being. He apologized for not being able to compete in the main event after the crash but is confident about returning next year. “I will definitely be back on the starting grid,” Pasini stated, showing resilience despite the incident.
