
Tata Motors has confirmed the development of an all-wheel-drive (AWD) version of its new Tata Sierra, which will be exclusively available as an electric vehicle (EV). The launch is expected early next year, following the introduction of the ICE model earlier this week. The base price for the ICE variant starts at Rs. 11.49 lakh ex-showroom in India.
The Sierra, a hyundai-and-vw/’ title=’Tata’s New 1.5L Turbo-Petrol Engine Challeng’>Hyundai Creta rival, will be available for booking from December 16th and deliveries are scheduled to begin on January 15, 2026. The EV version is currently under development with battery packs of 65kWh and 75kWh capacities, offering a claimed range exceeding 500 kilometers per charge.
Tata Motors introduced the new-gen Sierra in India this week, marking the debut of its new 1.5-litre four-cylinder TGDi Hyperion engine alongside naturally aspirated petrol engines and a diesel option. The ICE version comes with various transmission options including six-speed manual, six-speed torque converter automatic, and seven-speed DCT units.
While exact pricing for the EV AWD variant has yet to be announced, Tata is expected to release detailed price information in the coming weeks. Early estimates suggest that the Sierra EV could range between Rs. 20 lakh and Rs. 25 lakh ex-showroom in India.
The Sierra’s ICE version features advanced safety and connectivity systems, including a large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The vehicle also includes adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning as standard equipment across all trims.
