General Motors reported a robust sales increase of 5.5% for the U.S. market in 2025 despite a fourth-quarter dip. Meanwhile, Stellantis’ iconic Jeep brand finally saw its first uptick since 2018.

Key Takeaways

General Motors sales rose by 5.5% in the U.S., making it the top seller for another year.

The Jeep brand, part of Stellantis, saw its first increase since 2018 despite overall company sales dropping slightly.

Cox Automotive predicts a slight rise in total U.S. car sales to about 16.3 million units for 2025.

GM’s success can be attributed mainly to its electric vehicles and large SUVs, alongside the entry-level Buick Envista. The company’s growth is a bright spot amid an otherwise flat market trend.

The Jeep brand’s comeback was long-awaited by fans who have seen their favorite off-road icon struggle in recent years. This turnaround shows how critical it is for brands to adapt and innovate with changing consumer preferences.

While GM celebrated its sales growth, Stellantis faced a slight decline overall in 2025. But the resurgence of Jeep signals hope that other struggling divisions might soon follow suit with strategic adjustments.

The automotive industry’s outlook remains cautiously optimistic for the coming year as manufacturers continue to focus on electrification and SUVs. This trend could shape how consumers view their next car purchase, especially when it comes to fuel efficiency and versatility.

From the rugged fields of America to the bustling streets, Jeep trucks have been a symbol of strength and versatility for decades. As we dive into Stellantis’ rich history with its iconic brand, it’s clear that Jeep has always stood out from the crowd.

Key Takeaways

The Willys-Overland Motor Company introduced the first civilian pickup truck in 1947 called the Jeep Truck.

This model was available with either two-wheel or four-wheel drive, making it a pioneer among pickups for its era.

Jeep has been through many corporate changes but still managed to keep producing trucks up until today’s modern models.

The story of Jeep trucks starts in 1947 when Willys-Overland introduced the first civilian pickup truck. It was a bold move, especially considering the company had never produced pickups before World War II. But with its wartime success under its belt and an innovative spirit driving it forward, Willys took on this new challenge.

One of the most striking features about these early Jeep trucks is their four-wheel drive option. When they first hit the market in 1947, Ford and Chevy didn’t offer similar options until years later. This made them stand out as true off-road pioneers.

The Willys-Overland Motor Company continued to innovate with its Jeeps throughout the ’50s and early ’60s. They even introduced a station wagon version of their Jeep, sharing many components with the pickup truck models. These vehicles were designed for farmers who needed reliable workhorses that could handle tough terrain.

Throughout the years, Jeep has seen its fair share of corporate changes, from Kaiser Manufacturing to American Motors Corporation and finally Chrysler. Yet despite these ups and downs in ownership, Jeep kept producing trucks until a break between 1993 and 2020 before resuming with modern versions that carry on the legacy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What was special about early Jeep pickups?

Their four-wheel drive option set them apart from competitors like Ford and Chevrolet, making them highly versatile for off-road use.

When did Willys-Overland introduce the first civilian pickup truck?

In 1947, right after World War II ended. It was called the Jeep Truck and marked a significant shift in their product lineup.

No matter how many times ownership changed hands or technological advancements were made, one thing remained constant: Jeep’s dedication to building trucks that could go anywhere and do anything. As we look back at this timeline of every Jeep truck ever made, it’s clear why the brand has such a devoted fanbase.

Is the new 2026 Jeep Wagoneer S really a Jeep? That question kept nagging at me after spending a week with this electric SUV. It’s quick, comfy, and modern, but something about it doesn’t feel right.

Key Takeaways

The 2026 Jeep Wagoneer S is the brand’s first fully-electric offering for American buyers.

Packed with tech and power, but falls short on ruggedness expected from a Jeep.

Cheap materials detract from its sleek looks and surprisingly refined ride.

On paper, it sounds exciting: 500 horsepower, all-wheel drive, over 294 miles of range. But as I drove around city streets and took road trips in the Wagoneer S Limited, one thing became clear – this isn’t your typical Jeep experience.

The ride is smooth and quiet, but it lacks that rugged outdoorsy vibe you’d expect from a brand built on off-road adventures. Instead of feeling like an extension of classic Jeeps, it feels more polished and aloof, almost like driving a Chrysler.

And while the interior looks sleek with modern tech features, cheap materials can be felt everywhere. The brakes are also surprisingly weak for such a powerful vehicle – they feel unresponsive at times when you need them most.

The Wagoneer S has plenty of cool stuff going for it like dual motors and an impressive range. But something about the badge feels wrong. It’s as if Jeep tried to force-fit its brand identity onto an electric SUV that just doesn’t quite fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the 2026 Wagoneer S cost?

The as-tested price is $67,195 before options. The base model starts at $65,200.

Does it have good range?

Absolutely! It’s rated for 294 miles on a single charge – more than enough to handle most daily driving needs and road trips too.

The 2026 Jeep Wagoneer S is an interesting step into the future, but it leaves you wondering what happened to all that iconic ruggedness we love about Jeeps. Maybe next time they’ll get it right?

The Jeep Avenger has arrived on the market, and it comes with a hefty price tag. Max Davies from The CarExpert team recently reviewed this cute yet stylish vehicle, but he can’t help feeling that its $69,000 price point is just too high.

Key Takeaways

The Jeep Avenger looks good and drives well for a light SUV.

Priced at nearly $70k, it’s hard to justify the cost given its size and features.

Families might find better value in other compact SUVs that don’t break the bank.

Driving around town in the Avenger is a breeze. It handles well on roads and has enough space for groceries, but it’s not designed to haul large items or accommodate big families comfortably. The car feels like an entry-level luxury model with its sleek design and modern touches inside, which makes sense considering its price.

But here’s the catch: at $69,000, this is where things get tricky for most buyers. There are other compact SUVs that offer similar features but cost half as much or less. Families looking to save money might want to look elsewhere and find something more affordable without sacrificing quality.

And let’s talk about the practicality of owning a car like this. While it looks great, is fun to drive, and has all sorts of cool tech gadgets inside, there’s no denying that its size limits what you can do with it in your daily life. If you have kids or need to cart around lots of gear regularly, something bigger might be more practical.

But the Avenger does offer some unique features like advanced safety systems and a smooth ride quality which could appeal to those who prioritize luxury over affordability. It’s just that these perks come at an extremely steep price tag compared to its competitors in this segment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Jeep Avenger worth $69,000?

No, it’s not. While it has some nice features and a stylish design, there are many other compact SUVs available at much more reasonable prices that offer similar or better value.

Who should consider buying the Jeep Avenger?

If you’re after luxury and don’t mind spending top dollar for it, plus if size isn’t a concern as long as you have enough space inside your garage to park such an expensive car.

In conclusion, while the Jeep Avenger is cute and drives well, its price tag makes it hard to recommend. There are plenty of other options out there that won’t break the bank but still provide solid performance and comfort for everyday use.

The Jeep Wagoneer S is the brand’s first electric vehicle and was expected to be a . However, after spending a week with it, I have to say that while there’s plenty of promise, this EV isn’t quite ready yet.

Key Takeaways

The Wagoneer S has 300 miles of range and packs a punch in terms of power.

Pricing is surprisingly reasonable for an electric vehicle, but the overall experience isn’t up to par with Jeep’s past offerings.

Much work needs to be done on software integration and user interface before it can truly compete in its segment.

Jeep promised that they wouldn’t release the Wagoneer S until it was perfect, but after spending a week driving this electric SUV, I’m not convinced. The vehicle’s range is decent at 300 miles on a single charge, and there’s no denying its power when you hit the accelerator.

However, what should be an exciting ride falls flat due to software glitches that make daily use frustrating. For instance, navigation doesn’t work smoothly, and the infotainment system feels clunky compared to other electric vehicles in this class.

The exterior design is a step up from previous models, with sleek lines and modern touches like slim headlights. But inside, it’s clear that there’s room for improvement. The seats are comfortable enough but don’t offer the premium feel you’d expect given its high price point.

My family has always been loyal to Jeep, so we were excited about this new electric model. Unfortunately, our enthusiasm is dampened by issues like a lack of cargo space and poor rear visibility when backing up. These are crucial features for families who need the Wagoneer S as their daily driver.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Jeep Wagoneer S worth buying?

No, it’s not quite there yet. While its promise is clear and it has some great features like range and power, the software bugs make daily use frustrating.

Will future updates improve the Wagoneer S?

Absolutely, Jeep will likely work on these issues with over-the-air updates. However, if you’re in need of an electric SUV now, there are better options available that won’t leave you feeling disappointed.

Jeep has a long history of making vehicles families love and trust. The Wagoneer S is the first step into electrification but it’s not ready for prime time just yet. It needs more work to become something truly special, so keep your eyes peeled for updates in future models.

Discover why the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chevrolet Blazer, and Alfa Romeo Stelvio may not be worth your hard-earned dollars.

Car manufacturers are always promising big improvements, but sometimes the reality falls short of expectations. In this article, we’ll look at five vehicles from 2025 that don’t live up to their hefty price tags.

Key Takeaways

The Jeep Grand Cherokee’s high cost doesn’t match its performance or features.

Chevrolet Blazer offers a striking look but lacks substance inside the cabin and under the hood.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio is visually appealing, yet it struggles with practical issues like build quality and reliability.

The 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee promises luxury and off-road prowess. But buyers are left disappointed by its high price tag compared to what’s inside the cabin. The materials aren’t as premium as expected, the infotainment system is slow, and fuel economy falls short for a vehicle in this class.

Next up is the Chevrolet Blazer with an eye-catching design but lacking substance when you open the doors. Its base engine isn’t very impressive, hard plastics are used throughout much of the interior, and space inside feels cramped compared to competitors. The safety features require extra-cost packages that bump up the price even more.

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio’s attractive exterior hides issues like inconsistent build quality and poor reliability for its high sticker price in 2025. While it looks great on the outside, small details inside reveal a less polished product than expected from this brand at this level.

These cars may look good in ads or on dealerships’ lots but their performance doesn’t match up to what you’d expect for such high prices. Families and daily drivers might want to consider more reliable options that offer better value.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee worth its price?

No, it overpromises on luxury and off-road capabilities without delivering enough quality or performance to justify such a high cost.

What are some better alternatives for those looking at these models in 2025?

Consider the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, or Subaru Outback. They offer similar features and performance but come with more value for your money.

In summary, while each of these vehicles has its charm, their high prices don’t align well enough with what they deliver to make them worthwhile purchases in 2025.

Key Takeaways

The 2025 Ford Bronco edges ahead when crossing streams and flooded areas thanks to its higher water fording rating.

The Jeep Wrangler’s superior approach, departure, and breakover angles make it a better choice for steep inclines.

Both vehicles have comparable towing capacities but differ in how those ratings are achieved with specific configurations.

So which one should you pick? Well, if you’re planning on tackling some major water crossings or driving through areas prone to flooding, the Bronco’s higher ground clearance and better water fording rating might just clinch it. But don’t forget about those steep inclines—the Wrangler’s angles are unbeatable.

When it comes to horsepower, both vehicles have their own strengths. The Jeep Wrangler boasts a bit more available horsepower than the Bronco, but when we’re talking torque and locking differential availability, the Ford Bronco takes the lead with its Sasquatch package that includes some serious off-road goodies like upgraded tires.

Both trucks offer similar tire sizes and payload capacities, making them fairly equal in this department. However, towing capacity is where things get a bit complicated. The Wrangler’s top tow rating comes from a specific configuration, whereas the Bronco’s higher ratings are available right out of the box without needing to add extra options.

Ultimately, deciding between these two beasts depends on your personal needs and what kind of adventures you’re planning for them. If you’re crossing lots of streams or flooded areas, go with the Bronco. But if steep inclines are more your thing, the Wrangler is likely your best bet.

As automotive enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the latest models each year, some vehicles fail to live up to their promises. The Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Chevrolet Blazer EV, Nissan Frontier, and Ford Escape Hybrid are among those that have disappointed drivers with subpar performance in real-world conditions.

Key Takeaways

The 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L struggles with structural issues like excessive vibration and high fuel consumption.

The Chevrolet Blazer EV faces criticism for its poor battery management system, leading to reduced range in hot climates.

The Nissan Frontier suffers from abrupt gear shifts and uncomfortable ride quality on highways due to its rugged design.

Starting with the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, this SUV was marketed as a comfortable and spacious vehicle ideal for long journeys. However, drivers have reported significant structural problems such as noticeable vibrations at high speeds and premature wear in the suspension system. Additionally, fuel consumption is higher than expected even under favorable conditions.

The Chevrolet Blazer EV aimed to be one of the most balanced electric vehicles of 2025 but has fallen short due to its poor real-world range performance. In particular, battery drain occurs rapidly on highways at constant speeds, reducing the promised range significantly. Furthermore, some users have noted that the thermal management system fails to maintain optimal temperatures in hot climates.

The Nissan Frontier, despite its rugged appearance, falls short of expectations when it comes to highway driving comfort. The transmission exhibits abrupt shifts during acceleration, leading to an unsmooth ride experience. Additionally, the suspension, designed more for rough terrain than highways, produces uncomfortable movements over long distances. This results in high fuel consumption, making it a less efficient choice for drivers covering extensive routes.

The Ford Escape Hybrid seemed like an ideal option for those seeking efficiency but has underperformed with issues during transitions between electric and gasoline modes. At higher speeds, the hybrid system contributes minimally to fuel economy, leading to increased fuel costs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L have excessive vibration?

The 2025 model suffers from structural issues that cause noticeable vibrations at high speeds, affecting driver comfort and fuel efficiency.

What is the issue with the thermal management system in the Chevrolet Blazer EV?

The battery’s temperature control fails to maintain optimal conditions in hot climates, reducing the vehicle’s range significantly during long drives.

In conclusion, while these vehicles were expected to offer a blend of comfort and efficiency for drivers on long journeys, they have fallen short due to various issues ranging from structural problems to poor thermal management. As automotive technology evolves, it is crucial for manufacturers to ensure that their products meet the expectations set by marketing campaigns.
